Full bio – below – is courtesy of Joe Yannetty’s web site:
A seasoned professional, comedian Joe Yannetty draws on his travels, his Italian heritage, family situations and Boston blue-collar upbringing to bring family-oriented comedy to audiences across North America. Yannetty has been a guest on more than three dozen television shows, including “Evening at the Improv,” “Caroline’s Comedy Hour” and most recently “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” He has headlined America’s best comedy clubs as well as those in Canada and the Bahamas. Joe has also appeared at the “Circus Maximus Showroom” at “Caesar’s Palace” in Las Vegas, “Radio City Music Hall” in New York City, and the “Kennedy Center” in Washington DC where he performed for First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Joe’s career began in the early 80’s at the “Ding Ho,” a comedy club and Chinese food restaurant in Cambridge MA. After just a few years Yannetty was one of the top ten comics in the area, having his own weekly show at “Nick’s Comedy Stop” in downtown Boston.
In 1987 he brought his gift to Los Angeles and quickly became a regular performer at all of the top clubs, including “The Improv,” “The Comedy and Magic Club,” and “The Ice House.”
Joe has also made a name for himself entertaining at Corporate meetings and private parties.
Yannetty has written for and toured with Rosie O’Donnell. He also spent some time as a morning show personality, writer, and producer on WKLB and WZLX RADIO, two of Boston’s top ten rated stations.
He was recently featured in a segment on the television show 20/20 about when he was victorious on Star Search over the now famous Drew Carey.
SUCKERS, a film he wrote and appears in, is based on a part of Joe’s life. It has been seen on HBO, and Cinemax, can be rented all over the country, and has been sold throughout the world. In October of 2001 Suckers was awarded the Premiere Video Award for Best Screenplay.
With his experience as a live performer, an actor and writer, in television, movies, and the stage, it seems Yannetty does it all. With a tremendous amount of prepared material, and an amazing ability to “work the crowd” without degrading the people that are paying to see him perform, whether it’s at the Kennedy Center or the local bar, Yannetty is guaranteed to leave audiences laughing, feeling great and wanting more.
Joe has also taken to the seas. A favorite on some of the world’s largest, newest and most prestigious cruise ships Joe has traveled the world.
