Chicago Comedy Scene shines at Zanies for Boston Comedy Festival

We were really impressed with the array of talent at Zanies Comedy Club in Chicago as I looked at talent for the Boston Comedy Festival. Zanies in Chicago have a storied history as one of the first full-time comedy clubs in the United States. Their downtown location was founded over 40 years ago. Last nights audition took place in their Rosemont location a beautiful comedy club located closer to O’Hare Airport in a beautiful modern entertainment complex that is surrounded by stores, a movie theater 18 theaters, restaurants, in door sky diving and most important to my lively hood a first class comedy club Zanies. I think that owner Bert Haas and his staff have helped Chicago become a thriving comedy community by putting the comedy first. It obvious to me that they care that they are developing comedians with original voices and material. When they put together this audition they did not just put a line up of acts that might bring a ton of their friends and family but might not be ready yet for the BCF. The line up was as good as I have seen anywhere in the country. The hardest part of holding and audition is you just can’t say yes to everyone. I would like to list them here in hopes you will look them up online a support their promising careers.
