Boston Comedy Legend Barry Crimmins gets baked in Boston
The Boston Comedy Festival is cooking up a welcome back roast and toast for Barry Crimmins, the comic and producer whose hard work, vision and terrific sense of humor helped bring the Boston Comedy scene into the modern era. Crimmins founded the fabled Ding Ho Comedy Club in Cambridge and then later was pivotal in starting Stitches in Boston. These clubs were where Steven Wright, Paula Poundstone, Bobcat Goldthwait, Kevin Meaney, Jimmy Tingle and many, many others cut their comedicteeth. Crimmins has gone on to make a name for himself as an internationally renowned political satirist. He is the author of Never Shake Hands With A War Criminal (7 Stories Press)
This tribute will be hosted by Boston comedy legend Tony V. The dais will be jammed with noted wits rarely seen on the same stage, including: Jimmy Tingle, Steve Sweeney, Mike McDonald, Randy Credico, Boston Globe cartoonist Dan Wasserman, The Steamy Bohemians — Niki Luparelli, Lainey Schulbaum and John Ennis (Mr Show, Studio 60). This lineup of all-star talent is sure to fricassee your funny bone so expect great laughs, celebrity surprises, topped off words from the wizened and hilarious forefather of our Boston comedy scene

Boston Comedy Festival’s “Good Sports” Show
No where are sports taken more seriously than in Boston. And anything taken so seriously is fair game for the Boston Comedy Festival!
The Boston Comedy Festival’s “Good Sports” Show will be hosted by Boston based headliner Paul Nardizzi. Paul Nardizzi, one of the most requested acts on satellite radio, began his comedy career in 1990, quickly becoming a Boston area favorite and a national headliner. He has made numerous appearances on Conan O’Brien, Comedy Central, won the Boston Comedy Festival Competition and is one of the most requested acts on XM Satellite Radio.
Also on the show is newcomer Greg Murphy who’s been wowing audiences with his impressions of local sports owners and players, and can keep the laughs coming with his talent and wit. This show will feature several other comedian/sports fans so don’t miss this show!

He is the star of two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials and is a frequent guest and correspondent on The Late Show with David Letterman. Andy recurred on Everybody Loves Raymond, Comedy Central’s The Root of All Evil and Fox’s Bob’s Burgers, and he has appeared on the HBO Young Comedians Special, Late Night with Conan O’Brian, The Daily Show, Dr. Katz Professional Therapist, Home Movies and The Larry Sanders Show. Andy delivers the State of the Industry Address each year at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

Friend of the festival Judah Friedlander is making a rare Boston appearance at the new Davis Square theater.
Judah Friedlander is a regular cast member on the Thursday night NBC hit comedy “30 Rock,” co-starring with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin.
Judah has been in over 20 movies including “Meet the Parents,” “Zoolander,” “Date Movie,” “Wet Hot American Summer,” “Feast,” “Showtime,” “Duane Hopwood” and “American Splendor,” for which he was nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Judah’s countless TV appearances include VH1′s “Best Week Ever,” HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” MTV’s “Wonder Showzen,” “The Tonight Show” and other late-night talk shows and Comedy Central shows. Judah also starred as the Hug Guy in the classic Dave Matthews Band music video “Everyday”.
With 18 years of stand-up experience, Judah is a comic’s comic and a crowd-pleaser. In his stand-up act, Judah is “The World Champion.” He’s a great athlete, gets tons of chicks and is a role model to children. And he’s better than you at everything.
