Meet the Team

  • Festival Director | Visual Artist

    Helen is the Festival Director of the Boston Comedy Festival, where she manages marketing, talent booking, and the overall production of shows. Passionate about creating a welcoming and collaborative environment, she strives to foster a supportive atmosphere for both performers and audiences. In addition to the flagship Boston Comedy Festival, Helen produces The Best of the Boston Comedy Festival, which tours theaters across New England. Outside of her festival work, she is a freelance visual artist, bringing her creative vision to a variety of artistic projects.

  • Comedian | Festival Founder & Producer

    Jim is the founder and director of the Boston Comedy Festival, one of the premier comedy events in New England. As a producer, he has built and curated a festival that attracts top comedic talent while providing a platform for emerging voices in the comedy scene. Jim's career spans over two decades and includes work as a performer and producer across Boston, Las Vegas, New York, Dublin, Montreal, and Edinburgh.

    In addition to his festival work, Jim has been featured on Comedy Central, NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comcast Comedy Spotlight, and NESN’s Roughing It. Since 1999, he has entertained U.S. troops at more than 100 military bases worldwide. His experiences performing for the troops were recently chronicled in his book, Embedded Comedian, which he describes as a "field manual for comedians in a war zone."
